How many builders does it take to paper a wall?
None. They’re either drinking tea at the backyard, or attending yet another friend/relative/neighbour’s funeral (for the second time in a week).
Here’s a simple trick to cover those ugly, damp-ridden walls yourself: a sticker wallpaper set by Mashallah Design that you can decorate freehand. Seen here is the ‘Equalizer’ created during what must have been a high-volume music session.
Hande Akçaylı and Murat Koçyiğit, the duo behind Mashallah, are a rare breed hailing from Moscow and Hamburg Fine Arts Academy, respectively. They live and work from Berlin to create inspirational designs for home and office.
‘Like what’, you ask? Check out ‘Cheers’, a twin set of pendant lights appropriate for hanging over a drink table. Combine it with ‘Wallcarpet’, another cheeky piece of work. Inspired by the traditional kilim design, it’s a wallpaper with a modern take on a classic (and mostly kitsch) retro piece.
Hande and Murat look destined to be the new stars of the show—hopefully, the shooting, not the falling kind. Touch wood and say the title…
