Do Try This Outside Home
Antiochia Lokantası
You tried the hot, hot, hot Adana; endured madly spicy Urfa; and even faced your diet demons with the very tempting Kayseri.
All for the sake of ‘culinary exploration’.
Nothing prepares you for this one, though: Antiochia, a new little gem of a ‘lokanta’ serving impossibly delicious signature dishes from Antakya region, has just opened.
They use the freshest local produce brought in directly from this sun-blessed city in the south (think of the best tomato puree in the world; no kidding) to create the eight-piece mezze, olive pickles, and local salads like zahter and babaganoush; not to forget the famous meat dishes, least sleazy dürüm wraps and lahm-i sini köfte in town. Top it up with their specialty desserts made from walnut and (hear this) aubergine.
Liked it so much you wanna take it home? The owner (and ex-banker-turned-food-stylist), Jale, painstakingly explains the ingredients in every dish, and you can even buy the pickles, herb oils and other secret goodies like sour pomagranate sauce on the spot.

Just don’t try the aubergine number at home, will ya?
