Earth, Wind and Fire

Laviva Home Trunk Show

Today, if you didn’t already know, is the day when the world will be sucked up by giant black holes.

When Large Hadron Collider starts spitting protons, we’ll ‘see what happens’, as one official from the project replies when asked about the purpose of this experiment.  (Why not test something more useful instead, like how to suck up all the garbage in the world?)

Laviva Home is another—yet more cheerful—project from ex-Travel+Leisure creative Laura Aviva.

Designed like a trunk show, the debut collection features hand-picked textiles from around the world, each of which tells a story and evokes a sense of place.

Choose Ethiopian blankets, vintage Uzbek suzani’s (needlework throws), Mexican bedspreads, linen pillows; or something from us: hammam towels.  Each show is curated by the travel-savvy eyes of Laura, and lasts for a limited time only.  (The next edition will feature ‘objects’, and the third one ‘collective’).

Too bad the world had to end: this girl had a really bright future.
