Hats Off

Ahh, that pretty girl who beat you in every race in 3rd grade.  (You said it’s not a competition.  That was before you lost it).

A successful actress—of ‘Senden Başka’, ‘Ihlamurlar Altında’ and ‘Elif’ fame—with a spunky personal-trainer-type hunk of a boyfriend, İpek Yaylacıoğlu‘s the kind of girl you just love to hate.

Well, brace yourselves girls…Turns out she’s also a talented indie fashion designer. (Grr!)

It’s impossible to be cross at İpek for long after you see her playful and gorgeous handmade designs, though.  Take her princess-pretty kitten ‘Wicked’ brand heels featuring tiny street art skulls, or her ‘HotHat!’ hat collection—with the spooky numbers like ‘Spider’ and ‘Monster’ to impress at that Halloween party—which shows a fun style and a cheeky sense of humour.   

Pieces include a pop art Marilyn Monroe hat with oversized feather; another one complete with bamboos and a frog sitting in the middle; or our favourite, the mini fedora headband, which makes us forgive her for having it all.  (Besides, she makes made-to-order items, so we have to be nice!)
