To those of you with bumps: Ever felt that with each ante-natal appointment, you’re becoming more anti-natal?
If so, I’Baby, a newly-opened centre for expectant and new mothers, will feel like heaven on earth. Being child-friendly and smoke-free, it’s blessed with special facilities for breastfeeding, nappy changing and play. A bit like a local baby club where you can pop in anytime.
Once inside, browse the vast collection of books and magazines on pregnancy, or enjoy a cup of tea or light lunch with a friend without constantly being nagged by your kids (they’ll be too busy discovering the fantastic play area). If you wish, go up to their resident health professionals for anything you couldn’t ask your busy busy doctor at your ante-natals.
Set up by two therapists, Cemre and Ayse, right in the middle of the city in Nisantasi, it’s a great venue for baby showers and 1st birthdays, and from January they’ll also start workshops with topics ranging from post-partum depression to toilet training.
