It’s a (Wo)Man’s World
Kiki Çay Evi
If you were in charge, you would swap suits for sundresses, stilettos for sandals, office desks for coffee tables and chaise lounges.
Burcu Denizer-revolutionary, romantic and owner of girly-girl utopia Kiki Çay Evi-is living the dream. Her teeny-weeny tea house, packed with tiny tea-cups, homemade bakery treats and kitschy decorations in the increasingly hip Çukurcuma, is so adorable, you’ll squeal like a schoolgirl.
Best to pop in with the BFF after a day’s stroll through the nearby boutiques and antique shops. There are over 30 tea varieties to choose from: cardamom ginger and hand-tied jasmin, to name a few. But don’t let them distract you from the refreshing iced sherbets, the coffees, and our favourite, the chilled chocolate-sauce cheesecake, made fresh every morning in house, plus börek, soups and other healthy snacks.
Next time bring the boyfriend, too. One visit to this funky little place is enough to convince that his gender should hand the control of the world to the fairer sex.
