She secretly entered the room; scared and shivering like a little bird.
The sight of unbelievable luxury and glamour made her gasp: golden chandeliers shimmered; beautiful kaftans hung in wardrobes carved out of ebony; soft towels made out of finest Turkish cotton touched her body, and scented candles smelled of pure jasmin on a hot evening in Sultan’s garden…
But most impressive of all was an enormous four-poster bed placed in the middle, made with the softest silk she had ever seen. On the bed were covers depicting palace scenery, and courtiers and immaculately-dressed young girls promenading in Sarayburnu. She turned the covers to see the brand: Haremlique.
Then she gave a sigh of relief, for she finally felt happy and confident that a man of such fine taste in his room couldn’t have gone wrong with his choice in women.
She smiled and sat down to wait for the Sultan himself.
