Soulsome Food
Lavanta Restaurant
Fact No.1—All things coming out of Izmir are delicious-looking: food, summery weather, and girls included.
Fact No.2—You and dieting have always been strange bed fellas: You like each other, but you don’t like each other.
Could a new venture from the famed Lavanta Restaurant girls (Melda and Fatoş) of Izmir’s trendy seaside hangout Alaçatı be the answer?
The Ortaköy branch, which opened recently in a magnificient period building, is not a just fresh breeze— more like a jet stream of oxygen to the dangerously boring Mediterranean-themed restaurant scene.
For starters, there’s shrimp wrapped in kadayif (Turkish vermicelli) and goat’s cheese salad. Moving on to mains, you have a choice of artichoke risotto, steak served with celery mash and Bombay beans, and seafood in tomato and rustic bread sauce. Still not tempted? Then try their diet-friendly veggie dishes cooked with authentic herbs sourced from Izmir region using the best of olive oil.
