Suite Life

Dear Mom,

I’m writing this from the beautifully chaotic Istanbul.  I’m tucked up in Misafir Suites‘ marble bathtub with L’Occitane smellies, thinking of you—I’m also thinking of stealing their gorgeous bathrobes and slippers when I check out;)    

This must be the best small hotel in the world.  The rooms are grandiose and ultra chic (you should see the size of their beds!), and the service courteous but never intrusive.  Right in the heart of the city, it’s got all the glitz of Ritz, but at B&B prices…This morning I enjoyed a delicious breakfast of simit, fresh tomatoes, olives, cucumbers and cheese in my room.  The owners Joost and his wife are a super nice couple (how many hotel owners do you know that will personally walk you to nearby shops or restaurants and even order for you?); and Rosa, the housekeeper makes a Turkish-Armenian coffee to die for.
