Up A Tree

Bora Aksu for People Tree

Think of ethical fashion and you think of tree huggers.

Well, girls…Tree huggers’ve upped their ante, too.

The pioneer of ethical fashion—or ‘esthetica’ to use its affectionate name—is none other than People Tree.  The latest addition to their line of sparkling names is fashion’s ‘young turk’ Bora Aksu

Bora’s collection in mainly mustard and blue hues include gorgeous jersey drape front tunics, smart shirt and pinafore dresses, drape jackets, and very cool knit cape cardigans you’d kill for.  All made with Fair Trade and organic produce in countries like Bangladesh, India and Nepal.

When global finance is being torn apart like now, it’s rather inspiring to read People Tree founder Safia Minney telling her story about injustice in the world in her best seller autobiography ‘By Hand.

And what’s number one on the said list?  ‘Your Job Survival Guide: A Manual for Thriving in Change’

Just to remind that money doesn’t grow on trees.

Available online at peopletree.co.uk from Wed., 1 Oct.  Safia Minney’s autobiography By Hand (11 Sept., 2008) is at amazon.co.uk.
