Emotional Baggage
Fringe by Müge Alkan
If there are two types of people in this world, then the division is this: the shoe addicts and the purse possessed.
Everyone knows that shoes and handbags go together like parties and spiked punch and we have found the best of the bunch, for there is little else that creates such an insatiable appetite, beyond a handsome purse and handbag.
Müge Alkan understands this better than most, and has just launched ‘Fringe’; a collection of bags for your passport, make up, (extensive) shopping, and even for your laptop. These colourful delights are cartoonish cool fused with animated expressions on brightly coloured canvases. Müge’s designs have the feel and look of someone else’s long telephone conversation, with the pen working everywhere, only to see the end product as a great picture.
Upon graduating from London College of Fashion, Müge became the creator and designer of Fizz by Park Bravo—a quirky and colourful clothing collection. And with the birth of Fringe we can expect even more wonderful things to come.
Just remember: It’s not only how you carry yourself, it’s what you carry and how.
