Gina Ristorante Opens
“A woman at 20 is like ice, at 30 she is warm and at 40 she is hot,” Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida once said.
No surprise then, that her namesake and the new kid on the Italian restaurant block, Gina, is a combination of sophistication on the outside and naughtiness on the inside.
Gina, which opened in Kanyon this week, has that romantic flavour of a sultry Italian movie. Razor sharp clean table clothes, orderly decor and pristine cutlery seem to hide a very independent and feisty nature in this new venture from Levent Büyükuğur et. al of Doors Group.
The only thing that’s straightforward is the deceivingly simple menu: fresh pasta, homemade pizza and salads featuring local produce from the land and the sea.
The whole package looks very posh, so expect celebrities to frequent the place in drones.
But watch out for Boris Becker; in case he gets carried away with the sexy interior and repeats his shenanagens of that famous broom cupboard incident in London cousin of Gina, the Zuma restaurant.
