Half-term Blues
Cost Centre #1 wakes up in the morning, moaning about how everyone in the class talks about skiing. Half-term’s only seventeen days away (yes, holidays, again). So, this time sign the junior up well in advance to Caddebostan Snowboard and Skii Camp. (Örnek Mah., Somuncu Baba Sok. 22, 3F., across Göztepe Soyak, Üsküdar. 0216 470 6970). No, it doesn’t take place on that Caddebostan, but rather on the slopes of Uludağ. (Not much of a snow type? They also run summer camps and a basketball school).
Moving on to Cost Centre #2—who’s into science and blowing things up—don’t miss santralatölye electronics workshops at santralistanbul, starting from 10 Jan., and aimed at 4 to 12-year-olds. And don’t forget to ‘hang’ a space for an underprivileged child when you sign up yours. Ask for details. (Kazım Karabekir Cad., 1, Eyüp. 0212 444 0428).
That leaves the youngest, (a.k.a. Cost Centre #3) and her love of art and yoga. The choices are endless. As in, yoga for kids at Cihangir Yoga (every Saturday, Meclisi Mebusan Yokuşu 15, Plato Film Okulu, 4F, Cihangir, Beyoğlu. 0539 572 8437).
