What Meyhanes are great, but most are just old places where traditional music is played and lonely men gather. Münferit is by no means like that. When a classic tale of vicious bureaucracy forced them to relocate even before they opened their doors, it finally kicked off at its new place in Galata Residence, so go and support their cause. The name implies owner Ferit’s taste when it comes to chatting over a glass of rakı. Unlike a traditional meyhane, you can hear Dalida and there’s a bar area.

What Probably Istanbul’s best known secret to budget fashionistas is taking place at the parking lot right in front of the TRT Building in Tepebaşı this year. Despite the somewhat awkward location, the festival’s spirit lives on.
