Manzara Istanbul Suits
Dear BFF,
I’m off on a press trip to Istanbul to cover an exhibition. (One has to suffer for one’s art, you know).
This place rocks, girl! I checked myself into Manzara Istanbul; a cozy group of suits (owned by mostly expats who rent them out in their absence) conveniently located around Galata Tower, boasting magnificient views of the old town. My flat is tastefully-decorated, fully serviced and a whopping 120 sqm.
First, we’re taken to a welcome party with other guests (although I hear that Manzara even let you throw your own party at your premises: they’ll find the caterers, put together music of your choice and the lot). Ended up talking to a Swiss man—some art dealer—wearing a Bruce-Springsteen style leather jacket. I can barely look…
There’s a special service to take guests to see the real Istanbul outside the palaces, mosques, the bazaar,etc.; like that contemporary art tour every Thursday, or the trip to Sulukule (a funky part of town, with a musical twist, as most of its residents are Romanis).
Got to go and get changed into something appropriately conservative now. I’m heading to a place of worship: Istanbul Harvey Nichols.
