Volumes of Style
Style Clinic and The Thoughtful Dresser
Hear ye, hear ye!
Today we bring you the news of two new books that are out to ease your fashion pains.
‘Style Clinic: How to Look Fabulous All The Time, At Any Age For Any Occasion’ by culture magazine (although the celeb type) British Grazia‘s fashion editor Paula Reed is serious fun to read.
Reed talks about things like how best to dress your body shape and use accessories like a styling pro to reach that ultimate fashion nirvana: the effortless chic. (French women, we hate you so much for that you). Loads of other tips on hot issues like the colour mix & matches, as well as essentials like the ideal skirt, the perfect pants and the skirt for all seasons are deconstructed and explained in detail.
If Style Clinic is geared towards the fashion-starved, Orange Prize winner Linda Grant’s ‘The Thoughtful Dresser’ reads more like a thinking woman’s fashion bible. Grant, a regular contributor to Vogue and The Guardian, starts with the definition of a £300 pair of Dolce&Gabbana shoes and goes on to explain why fashion shopping is not just for the air-headed fashion buffs—the shallow species easily manipulated by consumerism—but a real pleasure for many sensible women.
Men talk football. Women talk fashion. End of conversation.
Both books available through amazon.co.uk.
