Word’s On the Street That…

Milk Art Gallery & Design Store Opens

Promises, promises: Audi’s new A8, breaking your drink habit, cleaning the house today.

Meet Milk:  the first gallery and design store dedicated to street art…and seriously cool sneakers.

Set up by two ‘street-smart’ collectors, it ‘promises’ to bring a new look to cutting-edge art and design scene every Thursday of the month.

Tomorrow sees the start of Portland-based Meredith Dittmar‘s Grey Area exhibition featuring her hand-made team of characters (or ‘polymer musings’ as she calls them).

Upcoming projects, which are equally promising to break accepted rules in what’s art and what’s, ehm, ‘fart’, include an exhibition of Ayşe Küçük’s works (April) and Romanian Matei Apostolescu‘s fun free-style illustrations (May).

During exhibitions, artists’ individual and limited products will be on sale in the gallery store, which permanently stocks some playful brands such as DGV, Ndeur, Uglydolls, eBoy and Domestic.

If you like toys, books, sneakers, high heels and t-shirts, Milk won’t disappoint.

And that’s a promise.
